A Neutral Look For Fall

10.16.2018

Fall finally arrived in Dallas and I could. not. be. happier. about it. Temperatures in the 50s and 60s mean I can finally let myself indulge in all my favorite fall activities. And you better believe I started burning away my new apple cider candle, pulled out all my sweaters and sunk into a Gilmore Girls Netflix marathon this weekend. I also made apple pie and have been eating it for breakfast every day since. Fall is such a wonderful time of year.

I have to laugh a little at the arbitrary rule that you can’t wear white after Labor Day, because I tend to stick to neutrals and white tops, skirts and pants year round, regardless of season! While it might feel like a bit of a mind game at first, I urge you to give it a try! I always feel more elegant and put together when I’m wearing white and neutral colors. During the fall season, I like to focus a lot on layering complimentary tones and textures. This sweater has a great texture and is just heavy enough for a crisp fall day (but could just as easily be worn on a summer beach night!) I’ve had this skirt for years and I love the pleated texture and shine to it.

Would you try wearing neutrals and white in fall and winter? I’d love to hear in the comments below!
