Something's Gotta Give: The Perfect Beach House

Call me crazy, but until a couple days ago, I’d never seen Something’s Gotta Give, the Nancy Meyers classic that takes place in the most picturesque Hamptons beach house. And while I loved the storyline and the movie itself - I have continued to rewatch It to get another glimpse at the incredible house.

I love Nancy Meyers’ movies - the homes in each and every one of her movies are timeless, cozy and comfortable. This movie is a perfect example, as it came out in 2003, but the interiors in this could could have been designed just this year. In Erica’s writing spot, a grand bay window is accented by lush drapes and raffia shades, and sisal rugs add texture to espresso stained wood floors.

In the dining room, a built in hutch houses a wall of pretty plates and acts as storage for silverware. Upholstered dining chairs add color and print to the space. While it looks clean and pulled together - there’s layer after layer of rugs, fabrics, and dishwater that create a lived in feel, without being too cluttered.

The exterior of the home might be the most charming of all! Sweeping rooflines lead to a classic shingles exterior and a dreamy wraparound porch with a view of the ocean. Nancy Meyers’ films are always a vacation for the mind- a charming storyline and a charming home (and a charming soundtrack to match!).
