Nancy Meyers’ House Designed by Mark D. Sikes

Today’s post combines two of my favorite people into one dream home: designer Mark D Sikes and Director and Producer Nancy Meyers! Perhaps some of the best in their respective fields, Mark D Sikes and Nancy Meyers met by chance many years ago, as he was decorating a store-front window on a busy street in LA. The meet-cute was detailed in Mark’s Beautiful book, and it was pure fate that the two met and became friends. Mark’s classic American style paired with Nancy’s well-known movie interiors was a recipe for only one thing: a California dream home, complete with stunning gardens, a classic Nancy-Meyers white kitchen, and loads of charm.

A stunning entryway is complete with an antique french settee, accented by a set of sketches and wrought iron stair rail. I love how the light filters into this space!

A classic Nancy Meyers kitchen, almost reminiscent of Diane Keaton’s character’s Hamptons kitchen in Somethings Gotta Give. I love the stone tile floors here, that infuse a touch of rustic and earthy sensibility into a dreamy, light-filled white kitchen.

I love the idea of a double island - and with a different countertop for dining at. A cloudy, veined marble clads the main island and kitchen counters and backsplash. I particularly love the ceiling beams.

A dining nook (left) is centered under a pleated pendant. The all-white space is accented by charcoal woven chairs and a rust iron curtain rod. On the right, a dreamy fireplace anchors the living space.

You’re transported to a Nancy Meyers set but better in this living room - everything perfectly balanced, crisp linen sofas, bright flowers, all perfectly accented by touches of charcoal and rust. A jute rug anchors the space.

I love how the light enters the office space. I also love the use of dark wood furniture throughout the home, in a way that feels delicate and feminine but somewhat “settled” as well.

I’m sure many a dreamy night are spent on this patio, encircled by ivy covered walls and a luxurious fireplace.

The all -white color palette for this patio will instantly transport you to Mexico. I love the relaxed, laid back feel of the space.

I would love to hear your favorite part of this home in the comments below!
